Risky business

On the nicer bits of television (i.e. early seasons of the West Wing) the fake authority or arbiter takes additional risks time and again because sometimes they figure that better choices require the setting aside of personal agenda.*

I dunno how my colleagues feel, but given the human condition I find myself having to aspire to be as good as fiction. I feel (and this is clearly misremembered) that I didn't always have to do so.

*I still like the Cicero-era plural form. I'm old school.
