That Would Be Telling

We're (in this case, Citizens Here and Abroad) traveling to Seattle today to play a show. Normal enough, though tonight's show has us in a speculative mood since a Seattle record label has emailed us asking for some basic information, nicely asking for a plus-one on the guest list with claims a director might like to attend. (Which, for those of you not familiar with labels/artists relationships, means something neat at least in terms of appreciation.)

I like these things when they happen. They're pretty open to interpretation - they can range from casual but distant interest in our music (a "fly-by") to an interest in helping distribute someone's art or craft ("signing") though I only know of this through watching television or movies about such things. Never really seen a band get signed before. I have friends who've been signed to labels like Interscope and Merge and Beggars Banquet and such, but I've never seen it actually happening with my own eyes. I think that affects my belief in the whole thing. Of course I've never seen an electron either and I have faith that, in groups, they affect quite a bit of my life, so I'm not really a good source here am I?

Hey, speaking of Sub Pop... I've been hearing Sleater-Kinney's "Jumpers" in my head all day. In my dreams, I think, too. Which is nice, I don't often remember these.

Note to self: Don't drop sticks.

    Hey there!
Just visited your elven-and hobbitname website.
    Very funny site!
Just weird... I discovered the Hobbit name of me and my daughter are the same, even though we have not the same name at all...
Mine's Suzanna and hers is Noa.

    Isn't that funny?

Greetings, Suzanna (in Hobbits Ruby Bramble ;-) )
