1948 - A dike along the flooding Columbia River breaks, obliterating Vanport, Oregon within minutes. Fifteen people die and tens of thousands are left homeless.

1970 - Jimi Hendrix plays at Berkeley Community Theatre where he recorded a version of Chuck Berry's "Johnny B.Goode" available on the live compilation Hendrix In The West at what was to be one of his last concerts.

2003 - The final flight of an Air France Concorde takes place.

    In '48 after the Vanport flood they sold off hundreds of government housing left over from WWII military worker's dwellings who had also had a hand in building the dike that subsequently failed from the forces of the mighty Columbia. Your Grandpa bought one and had it moved to Twin Rocks, OR where you spent what we refer to as your carefree youth frolicking on the shores of the mighty Pacific Ocean. The rest is 'Google' hisory.
